Of course, the answer would be Romans 8:28, "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
I think that there is more in common between many of the oldest religions and Christianity, just most people don't see them.
For instance, yesterday I was reading through Patanjali's Yoga Sutras (long story). Many of those teachings have parallels to the teachings of Jesus. Same thing with Zoroastrianism. There are a lot of parallels there as well.
I don't claim to be any kind of religious authority, but reading through many texts, one would think it's odd to see so many similarities, but I don't think it's odd. To me it seems to affirm, that I'm on the right path. If that makes any sense.
