You remember. if you are old enough... It was there like some kind of killjoy, a cold, derisive stare accompanying the words…rock music is the devils music .
Really?
Kinda bullshit, if you listen, along with millions of others, to stuff like this…
But then maybe their issue all along was an existential terror of the primal self awakened by such devil sounds. The image of the lost ones, poorly groomed, long ago shunned by a judeochristian society so utterly convinced of its own exceptionalism that it was de rigeur to lecture those it abused with admonitions.
And worse.
And much worse.
Well, the facts are that trance is healthy. Trance allows the psyche to embrace more than a narrow stultifying description of what it is. Lemmy of Motorhead fame announced to the world that his real religion was rock ‘n’ roll, and with songs like Metropolis this was simple evident truth.
Religion.
So, the big brains amungus can decide that this ain’t religion, but do you really think for a moment that anyone in the audience really cares?
There are all kinds of levels to trance. There are all kinds of pathways that wind deeper, even into oblivion, only to return, riding the Beast, Therion, for as Mary Magdalene instructs us in her Gnostic gospel she was released from the fetter of oblivion which is transient.
And they say the Gnostics were not profound.
Certainly, a great deal-perhaps most rock music is not about trance states. The commercial imperative of a vile industry sees to that, as do the stultifying forces in this abrahamic soaked society. Cognicentrism is the term coined by some academics, namely a condition whereby the admitted states of consciousness are reduced to waking-and if one is feeling generous-sleep.
Of course, there is another side yet, one which no one really wants to give any kith to, at least those who sit in dead buildings and pretend they are leading this ship of society.
Gotta denigrate all the good stuff, to appear superior.
You see there is this little problem the abrahamics, all of them suffer through, a fact which they try and try to hide. No abrahamic religion is indigenous to Europe, to the fair skinned race aetherial.
Not Islam, nope.
Certainly not Judaism, nor a chance.
Neither is Christianity, which was brought to the people of Europe through war, torture, death and barbarism. Just ask the Saxons-oops, can’t, they’ve been genocided, like the Cathars, and the Witches, and-well point is made.
It isn’t lost on a significant segment of the people who find rock to harmonize with their thought, that they bound by blood to know more about their true ancestors, and remember that they came from a great people, whose stories have for too long been buried under the bulldozing by the acolytes of Abrahamism.
So, I’ll leave you with this last gem as a note that your abrahamic mind virus cult has failed in a significant number of hearts. You won’t understand this song unless you take your time and acquaint yourself with the epic poem Voluspa’, which happens to be one of the greatest poems-ever. You won’t understand the poem either, unless you take the time to understand what trance and The Sight, and the way of the Bright Women, and the quest of Odin meant to our ancestors. The fact that so many do, probably ignites christian anxiety . After all the murder, oppression, induced self hate, the Old Gods stand strong in the hearts of so many, and yes-the people do understand the words.
Amon Amarth is Sindarin, and it means Mount Doom. If you don’t know what Sindarin is, well all I can say is go educate yourself.
If you want an apology for the wild love and trance n dental potential of rock, look somewhere else. Hopefully, for at least some of those of you who will read this you can develop a deeper understanding of the real forces in the human psyche, and an appreciation for what we were born with.
Until next time.
Stay wild.

Doubtless there are very few here on civilized standard time frame substack who want to hear that the new religion is already here, has been here, and is right under everyone's noses.
Much to the distress of many, its only moderately acceptable, and often embraces an informed, prechristian stance.
An undisclosed aspect of this religion is the reality of trance, a participatory involvement of altered states, an exploration, in a supported environment that so many erroneously just write off as emotion.
I doubt there is anyone else on Substack pointing this out. I doubt there is anyone here even willing to admit it, because it sure throws a monkeywrench into all those lofty plans for a revamped christianity, a topic which seems inordinately popular here on Substack.
Whatever.
For those with eyes to see there are many parallels that can be drawn. Perhaps I will do so in a future piece, perhaps not. Regardless, the phenomenon is now documented, and unlike Ivory Tower ruminations-very real.
I have noticed it - and I support it. Christianity failed the west, and we will try a myriad of routes before falling back towards esoteric cults, exoteric religions, and pre-Christian tradition. My main gripe is that there aren't enough well-intentioned, well-informed folkish pagans taking battle to the seemingly more popular universalist semi-Christian pagans. I will say this though: only the AFA (Asatru Folk Assembly) has multiple hofs in America and Europe, only the AFA has a haeminga that is upheld every month with blots and rituals on the holy days. The universalist pagans are mostly on the Internet.
We will see what comes from all of this. I was a devout Christian, but it's not a sustainable system today. Many more will walk away, only to find or create something new. Something that better encapsulates our current folkish spirit.
